Built by people who saw the problem first-hand

NowBoard started in a care home — watching staff struggle with paper schedules, outdated whiteboards and confused families. We built something better.

The problem we could not ignore

We did not set out to build a digital signage company. We were working with care homes — helping them with technology, operations and day-to-day systems.

What we kept seeing was the same problem in every home we visited.

There was a whiteboard in the lounge with today's activities. Half the entries were wrong. There was a printed schedule on the noticeboard — from last month. Families phoned reception to ask what their mum was doing today because nobody had updated the information.

Staff were not lazy. They were busy. The activities coordinator had updated the schedule on their computer. But getting that information onto the board in the lounge, the screen in reception and the notice by the front door — that took time nobody had.

We looked at digital signage tools that were already on the market. They were built for retail chains and corporate lobbies — flashy media players with complex dashboards and enterprise pricing. None of them were designed for someone who just needed to show today's schedule on a TV screen.

So we built NowBoard.

What drives us

Our mission: Make it simple for any organisation to keep people informed — with clear, up-to-date information on any screen.

We believe that good information should not depend on someone having time to update a whiteboard. It should not require an IT department. It should not cost thousands of pounds.

Simple by default

If it needs a training session, we have not finished building it. Every feature in NowBoard is designed so that anyone on your team — not just the tech-savvy ones — can use it within minutes.

Built for the people who use it

We design for activities coordinators, receptionists, event managers and school administrators. Not for IT procurement teams. The people who actually update the screens every day are the people we build for.

Honest and transparent

Our pricing is on the website. There are no hidden fees. No features locked behind a sales call. No fake urgency. If NowBoard is not right for you, we would rather you know that upfront.

Reliable above everything

When a screen is on the wall and families are checking it, it has to work. Every time. Reliability is not a feature — it is the foundation everything else is built on.

What we know — and how we know it

NowBoard was not built in a vacuum. It was built from direct experience working inside care homes, schools and event venues — watching how information flows (and where it breaks down).

We have seen activities coordinators print the same schedule five times because the one in the corridor keeps getting taken down. We have watched hotel reception staff hand-write conference room signs twenty minutes before guests arrive. We have listened to school administrators explain that their digital screen has been frozen on last term's timetable for three weeks.

That experience shapes every decision we make. It is why NowBoard focuses on schedules and announcements instead of trying to be a general-purpose media player. It is why our layouts use large text that can be read from across a room. It is why the NowBoard Player recovers automatically after a power cut — because we know nobody is going to reboot it.

We are not a venture-funded startup chasing the next feature. We are a small, focused UK team building something that works for the organisations we know best.

The team behind NowBoard

NowBoard is a small team based in the UK. We are building this company carefully, focused on doing one thing well rather than trying to do everything at once. Every customer can reach a real person — because at our size, you are probably talking to someone who helped build the product.

Who we build for

NowBoard serves organisations where people need to know what is happening — and where keeping that information up to date has always been harder than it should be.

Care homes and assisted living

Where daily schedules, meal times and activities need to reach residents, families and staff across the building.

Schools and colleges

Where timetables, events and announcements need to appear on corridor screens and reception displays without adding work for administrators.

Hotels and conference venues

Where event programmes, meeting room schedules and welcome messages need to update in real time as things change.

Leisure centres and gyms

Where class schedules and pool times need to be visible the moment someone walks through the door.

Offices and coworking spaces

Where meeting room status, visitor information and company announcements need a simple, central display.

We started with care homes because that is where we saw the problem most clearly. But the need is the same wherever people gather and need to know what is happening next. See all sectors →

Where we are headed

NowBoard launched in 2026. We are early — and we are building in the open.

Our roadmap is shaped by the organisations that use NowBoard every day. We do not build features because they sound impressive in a press release. We build features because a customer told us they need them.

  • Deeper calendar integrations — connecting with more calendar platforms so your existing schedules flow straight to your screens
  • More templates and layouts — purpose-built designs for specific sectors and use cases
  • Enhanced accessibility — ensuring every display meets the highest standards for readability and inclusivity
  • Community input — founding customers help shape what we build next

We are not trying to become the biggest digital signage company. We are trying to become the most useful one — for organisations that need clear, simple, reliable information on their screens.
